Although Charles grew up in Los Angeles, since his family moved up to Pebble Beach after he graduated high school, we had spent many weekends there visiting them. From very early on, the Pebble Beach/Carmel area had always felt special to us. In addition to its unbelievably beautiful setting, we celebrated many milestones there throughout our relationship. When we got engaged, we decided we wanted to share the magic of Pebble Beach/Carmel with the people we loved most.
Both being from Georgia, we wanted something within the state we were raised in, but still wanted a destination wedding – one where our guests could completely unplug and be present with us all weekend long. We stumbled upon Ford Plantation and instantly fell in love with its charming yet grand property and knew nothing else would hold a candle to its beauty.
Kat + Charles traveled to the west coast to celebrate their love at Tehama Golf Club in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. Guest enjoyed the ever beautiful city of Monterey and beautiful views at Pebble Beach for th rehearsal dinner. Kat says, “Charles and I consider ourselves romantic, old souls who are young at heart and we wanted our decor to reflect that. With that in mind, we opted for lots of lush, green and white flowers mixed with candlelight to achieve an uber-romantic vibe.”
Claire and Ross sought out a place far from the city they call home. Atlanta has so many wonderful things within itself, teeming with life but they choose to escape the city for a long weekend in Amelia Island. The only sounds we heard this afternoon was the tide curling up and push in and out against the unexpected burst of salty breezes. This simple day gave all of us the opportunity to enjoy the place we were in.
I'm pretty confident in saying that I thought of almost everything when planning my wedding. Except when it came to where I'd get dressed. I assumed I'd primp and prep where I stayed all weekend but it wasn't until that morning, with my makeup artist setting up shop and family and friends running about that I realized a different space might've been a good idea.
